The Book Sometimes intimidated and often at a loss for words when trying to share the Gospel with non-Christian friends, Kevin searched for a way to open the dialog about Jesus in a non-intimidating way. That search led Kevin to write a book for hunters and anglers which would bridge the gap between the passion that true sportsmen feel for the outdoors and the love of the Lord Jesus. The result was his first book, Heart Shot. Heart Shot is an inspiring devotional for outdoor enthusiasts serving to help sportsmen overcome life's challenges through hunting and fishing adventures. The book makes an ideal gift for folks who love to hunt and fish, but may be intimidated by the concept of God or church attendance. Each of Heart Shot's twenty chapters encompasses a central theme. Themes include: "What to do when everything goes wrong", overcoming temptation, handling difficult situations, and many more. Two thirds of each chapter features an amusing or thought-provoking hunting or fishing story told through the eyes of a sportsman. Following each adventure story, Heart Shot briefly examines what the Bible has to say about each chapter's theme. Every chapter ends with three or four practical, Biblical-based ways to improve your life (e.g., what to do when everything goes wrong). This unique feature encourages folks to overcome some of life's most difficult challenges and guides them back toward living an enriched life, hopefully while enjoying a chuckle over the book's humorous stories. Since Heart Shot was released in August 2004, Kevin has conducted numerous speaking engagements at church functions, sportsman's clubs, and banquets throughout the country about hunting and fishing adventures from around the world, and how God has guided him through his writing career.
